Liudmyla Khmara, participant of the regional contest "Woman of Donetsk Region" in 2025, nomination "Power of Good and Unity"
In Donetsk region, despite all the challenges of today, teachers continue not only to teach children, but also to form in them the values of kindness, empathy and mutual assistance. A special place among such examples is occupied by the story of Lyudmyla Khmara, deputy director of educational work at Myrnohrad secondary school No. 9.
Originally from the mining town of Myrnohrad, Lyudmyla combines her daily teaching activities with volunteering. Together with her colleagues, parents and students, she organizes aid collections for Ukraine's defenders, holds charity events, and initiates educational activities to develop a culture of charity among young people. It is important for her that every student understands that a small good deed has great power, and that supporting each other is the key to unity and victory.
Lyudmyla Khmara's story demonstrates how a teacher's personal example becomes a source of inspiration for students and the community. In the difficult conditions of war, she shows that a school can be not only a place to gain knowledge, but also a space for raising sensitive, conscious and caring citizens.
