A regional online seminar on «Innovative approaches and digitalization of the promotion of intangible cultural heritage in conditions of martial law» was held, organized by the Donetsk Regional Educational and Methodological Center for Culture for representatives of local communities, tradition bearers, and cultural specialists in Donetsk region.

During the event, the results of systematic work in the field of intangible cultural heritage in Donetsk region for 2025 were analyzed. Specialists from the Donetsk Regional Educational and Methodological Center for Culture presented modern digital tools for preserving and promoting traditions, in particular the online archive «Donetsk Region: Preserve for Future Generations» https://surl.li/nrqrnm

The resource provides a systematization of unique materials provided by local communities, including old photographs, legends, recordings of rituals and songs.

It also features a collection entitled «The Living Heritage of Donetsk Region: Identity and Resilience,» which brings together 32 elements of the region’s intangible cultural heritage and provides access to video materials via QR codes.

Representatives of local communities shared their practical experience of identifying, recording, and researching local traditions in wartime conditions. In particular, Valentina Chumakova, head of the Vuhledar City Department of Culture, reported on the stages of work — from conducting field research to preparing the necessary documentation, which made it possible to officially record three new elements of the intangible cultural heritage of Donetsk region. Yevheniia Taranova (Mirnenska territorial community) presented the experience of the community, which began working in this area for the first time in 2025 and successfully presented two local elements for inclusion in the regional list of ICH.
