As part of the 2nd International Cohesion Forum, held in Kyiv and organized by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, four territorial communities in Donetsk Oblast signed memorandums of cooperation under the national project “Side by Side: Cohesive Communities.”

Specifically:

  • Chasovoyarsk City with Myronivka City Community in Kyiv Oblast;
  • Kostiantynivka City with Znam’yanka City Community in Kirovohrad Oblast;
  • Bakhmut and Sloviansk Cities with Poltava City Community in Poltava Oblast.

The signing of the memorandums marks a new step toward fruitful cooperation to support communities in the Donetsk region and strengthen their resilience, implement joint decisions on supporting internally displaced persons, and relocate institutions and facilities to safer regions of Ukraine.

Communities in Donetsk Oblast have already signed 113 memorandums of cooperation and have nearly 90 partner communities from 17 regions of Ukraine. Such cooperation has already proven its relevance and effectiveness.

In addition, as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” five international agreements have been signed: three with municipalities in the Czech Republic (the communities of Siverska, Zvanivska, and Mangushska) and two with municipalities in Poland (the communities of Maryinska and Myrnenska).
