In 2026, the procedure for receiving the one-time financial assistance for Ukraine's Independence Day has been simplified. Most eligible recipients will receive the payment automatically, with no need to apply to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Who will receive the payment automatically in August?
- Pensioners (including recipients of monthly lifetime monetary maintenance).
- Recipients of housing subsidies and utility payment benefits (provided they are not serving in the military).
These individuals do not need to submit any additional applications. The funds will be transferred together with their pension, housing subsidy, or utility benefit.
How is the payment made to military personnel?
War veterans who are currently serving in the Armed Forces (including those who are also pensioners or recipients of housing subsidies or utility benefits) will receive the payment through the military units, institutions, or organizations where they are serving.
Make sure your place of service has information confirming your war veteran status.
Who must submit an application independently?
If you are eligible for the payment but are not a pensioner, do not receive a housing subsidy or utility benefit, and are not serving in the military, you must submit an application to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
The application may be written in free form and should include:
- details of your identity document;
- your bank account number (IBAN) for the payment;
- your Tax Identification Number (RNOKPP);
- details of the certificate confirming your eligibility for the payment.
The following documents must be attached:
- a copy of your passport (or temporary Ukrainian identity certificate);
- a copy of the certificate confirming your eligible status (original documents must be presented if applying in person).
How can you submit the application?
Choose the most convenient option:
- In person: at the nearest Pension Fund service center or an Administrative Services Center (CNAP) at your registered place of residence or stay.
- By mail: send the application and supporting documents to the appropriate regional office of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
- Online: through the Pension Fund of Ukraine's Electronic Services Portal (using a qualified electronic signature, QES).
