On the occasion of Ukrainian Armed Forces Day, the Donetsk Youth Palace "Yunist" held a remote military-patriotic event entitled "I am the future defender of Ukraine."
About 100 students from vocational, pre-higher, and higher education institutions in the Donetsk region took part in the event. Fifteen teams from Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Kostyantynivka, Kurakhove, Lyman, Myrnohrad, Selidovo, Sloviansk, and Toretsk competed in three contest sections: "Greetings," "Sports," and "Theory and Practice."
In the creative section, teams presented video presentations with their own symbols, slogans, and motivational messages. The "Sports" stage involved performing strength and coordination exercises at home and recording the results on video. In the theoretical-practical section, participants solved situational tasks on military topics, terrain orientation, tactical medicine, and the basics of national defense.
Before the start of the competition, military officer and chaplain Valery Vavilov addressed the young people. In his speech, he emphasized that every person has their own mission and contribution to Victory, that Ukraine's strength consists of many daily steps: some serve on the front lines, some save lives, some teach, and some learn a profession to be useful to the state tomorrow. Each of these roles is important and requires conscientiousness.
At the end of the competition, two teams tied for first place with the same number of points: "Ambulance" (Kostiantynivka Medical College) and "Sokoly Kramatorska" (Kramatorsk College of Industry, Information Technology, and Business of the Donbas State Machine-Building Academy).
The young men and women demonstrated quick thinking, composure, respect for military traditions, and the ability to work as a team—qualities that shape the future defenders of Ukraine.
