Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Igor Boiko took part in a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, during which key issues of ensuring stable communications in the event of possible prolonged power outages were discussed.
During the meeting, Ihor Boiko reported on the status of mobile operators' base stations being equipped with additional power sources as of December 9, 2025.
Mobile communication services in the region are provided by three operators:
PJSC "VF Ukraine" (Vodafone),
Kyivstar PJSC,
Lifecell LLC.
To ensure the continuity of mobile communications in the event of prolonged power outages, operators have taken a set of measures to equip base stations with electric generators, lithium and AGM batteries.
Batteries capable of providing up to 10 hours of operation have been installed at 58% of base stations, and rechargeable batteries with an autonomy of more than 10 hours have been installed at 18% of facilities.
The meeting participants emphasized the importance of further coordination and increasing power reserves to guarantee the population's access to mobile communications in crisis situations.
