A pension is a monthly payment provided under Ukraine's solidarity system of compulsory state pension insurance. It is paid to an insured person upon reaching the statutory retirement age established by the Law of Ukraine No. 1058-IV "On Compulsory State Pension Insurance" of July 9, 2003, or upon being recognized as a person with a disability. In cases specified by the law, pension payments may also be granted to the insured person's family members.
Ukrainian legislation provides for the following types of pensions:
old-age pension;
disability pension;
survivor's pension;
long-service pension.
An application for a pension and the required documents can be submitted online through the Pension Fund of Ukraine's Electronic Services Web Portal at https://portal.pfu.gov.ua/ or in person at any Pension Fund of Ukraine service center, regardless of the applicant's place of residence, registration, or current location.
