The Kalchitska rural community created the "Book of Community Unity," which was born from sincere hearts and a shared desire to be together, despite distance, trials, and different life paths.
This book was created as part of the national project "Side by Side" and has become a symbol that true unity begins with people, communities, and mutual support.
The leading idea of the publication was the leitmotif "different communities – one book – one Ukraine," which united participants from different parts of the country. The communities of the Mariupol district – Kalchitska, Mangushska, Sartanska, and Mykilska – as well as the Turbivska community in the Vinnytsia region and the Stepanetska and Chyhyrynska communities in the Cherkasy region contributed to the creation of the book. Each of them contributed a piece of their history, pain, hope, and faith to this book.
The pages of the book contain creative works by children aged 6 to 18 – drawings, poems, essays, and short texts. Alongside the children's voices are the reflections of soldiers, veterans, and families of fallen defenders. Together, they create a vivid narrative of unity, strength of spirit, memory, and love for their homeland.
The Book of Community Unity is more than a collection of creative works. It is a reminder that unity lives in everyday actions, in words of support, in the ability to be there for each other and look in the same direction. It is a book about Ukraine's shared past, shared responsibility, and shared future.
