On October 4, an open men’s table tennis tournament dedicated to Defenders of Ukraine Day was held in Kyiv.

The event was organized by the Kalchitska Village Military Administration and the public organization “Donetsk Regional Branch of the All-Ukrainian Physical Culture and Sports Society ‘Kolos’” with the support of the Federation of Greek Societies of Ukraine.

At the start of the event, participants were greeted by Volodymyr Matyash, head of the Kalchitska Rural Military Administration, and Yevhen Logosha, deputy chair of the NGO “Donetsk Regional Branch of the All-Ukrainian Federation of Sports Societies ‘Kolos.’” They expressed their gratitude to Ukraine’s defenders—both men and women—whose courage and resilience make it possible to hold sporting events today, and wished the participants fair play, endurance, sporting enthusiasm, and strong results.

The competition was attended by defenders of Ukraine, veterans, their family members, and residents of local communities in the Donetsk region. The competitors demonstrated a high level of training, confidence in their abilities, and true athletic endurance.

The final standings were as follows:

🥇 1st place – Mykhailo Sharin

🥈 2nd place – Volodymyr Khadzhinov

🥉 3rd place – Yevgen Logosha

Among the veterans:

🥇 1st place – Mykola Hmyria

🥈 2nd place – Valerii Merkov

🥉 3rd place – Volodymyr Zharkov

The winners and runners-up were awarded trophies, medals, and certificates. For the participants, the event provided an opportunity to meet on the sports field and support one another.

We sincerely thank everyone who helped organize and host the tournament, as well as the participants and guests for their enthusiasm, support, and for fostering an atmosphere of fair competition. Special thanks go to the Defenders of Ukraine, who stand guard over our country every day and thanks to whom we are able to hold such events.
