Oleksandr Kortyak, 24, always knew which profession he wanted to pursue. Holding a Master’s degree in psychology, he already had nearly two years of experience as a practical psychologist.
However, the war disrupted his plans. Due to the security situation, Oleksandr was forced to leave Druzhkivka and relocate to Myrhorod. Despite the new city and circumstances, his professional goal remained unchanged: to continue working as a psychologist.
To achieve this, Oleksandr joined the "Career Acceleration: 4 Steps to an Offer" (*Кар’єрний форсаж: 4 кроки до оферу*) project organized by the Donetsk Regional Employment Service. Over four weeks, participants:
* Analyzed the labor market and determined their personal professional vector
* Crafted resumes and cover letters
* Learned how to effectively present themselves to employers
* Practiced self-presentation and job interview skills
The results were immediate: Oleksandr received a job offer in his specialty. Today, he works as a practical psychologist at Druzhkivka Gymnasium No. 17.
"It was crucial for me not to lose touch with my profession and to find an opportunity to keep working as a psychologist. Participating in 'Career Acceleration' helped me structure my job search, present myself better, and believe that even after forced displacement, you can continue your professional path," shares Oleksandr.
This is just one of the initial employment success stories from the "Career Acceleration" project. While the course has concluded, its positive impact is only beginning to show as more young participants take key steps toward their professional goals.
