This was reported by Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Head of the Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin.

The first group includes 100 children aged 9 to 12 and four caregivers who have traveled to the “Pearl of Donetsk Region” health and recreation complex, temporarily relocated to the village of Karpaty in Zakarpattia region.

The interregional “Carpathian Shift” project is being implemented with the support of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, regional military administrations, and the Ukrainian Association of Football.

Its main goal is the physical and mental recovery of children who have been most affected by the war through sports, active recreation, and cultural integration.

Priority participants include children from the families of military personnel, police officers, State Emergency Service rescuers, and other representatives of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, as well as children who have experienced significant psychological trauma as a result of hostilities.

The organizers have developed a highly engaging and informal 14-day program designed to ensure proper supervision and safety while providing a complete emotional reset.

The program includes daily football training sessions and master classes with professional coaches from the Ukrainian Association of Football, comprehensive psychological rehabilitation and physical recovery under the supervision of specialists, as well as cultural activities and excursions to unique locations in western Ukraine.

“This is an extremely important initiative for our children. Such projects are about support, care, preserving human potential, and giving children the attention they deserve.

I am grateful to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration Myroslav Biletskyi and his team, and the Ukrainian Association of Football for supporting our children,” Vadym Filashkin emphasized.
