There are things that become a part of us. For Kateryna Kostiv from Selidovo, creativity and working with children have always been such things. She led a club, conducted workshops, and helped children discover their talents and take joy in their own successes. She found inspiration for her work in the children’s smiles, their eyes full of wonder, and their small creative triumphs.
But the war changed Kateryna’s normal life. She had to leave her hometown of Selidove, her colleagues, her students, and everything that was so dear to her heart. She moved to a new city—Chernivtsi. In this unfamiliar environment, a difficult question arose: how to start all over again?
But even far from home, Kateryna did not lose what mattered most—her love for her work, her professional experience, and her desire to work with children. She decided to look for opportunities to once again do what she knew how to do and loved.
The employment service provided support along the way. Kateryna turned to the Dobropil Office of the Pokrovsk Branch of the Donetsk Regional Employment Center. Specialists helped her prepare a resume, present her strengths to employers, and find job openings that matched her experience and preferences.
The specialists’ support was available remotely—this allows her to look for work, receive advice, and resolve employment issues without unnecessary travel.
And the results weren’t long in coming! Kateryna found a job at the Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity in Chernivtsi. She is once again working with children, helping them create, discover their talents, and believe in themselves.
The city has changed, the circumstances have changed, but the work to which she has dedicated so many years remains the same. And that means a piece of her familiar life has returned—through her beloved job, children’s creativity, and the opportunity to make a difference.
