The Kramatorsk Higher Vocational School, which relocated to the village of Koropets in the Ternopil region due to the war, held a hands-on workshop for local high school students. The event allowed teenagers from the Koropets community to personally try out in-demand trades in real training workshops.
The main goal of the event was to move away from traditional lectures and give young people the opportunity to work with their hands under the guidance of experienced masters and students from the school. The hands-on sessions covered several key areas:
- Food industry: In the “Gingerbread Art” and “Your First Perfect Pizza” workshops, students learned the basics of working with dough and decorating baked goods.
- Metalworking Shop: Teenagers learned the intricacies of filing and drilling metal, crafting their own original keychains.
- Welding Hub: High school students familiarized themselves with the operation of automatic and semi-automatic machines and made their first welds.
A unique feature of the intensive course was that the role of mentors was filled not only by instructors but also by the students of the Kramatorsk Vocational School themselves, who helped the beginners and shared their own experiences. The day concluded with a group tasting of dishes prepared at the culinary station.
Despite the challenging conditions of relocation, the college has fully preserved its educational and logistical capabilities. The institution trains specialists in the fields of welding, automotive transportation, and food technology, demonstrating the resilience and flexibility of Donetsk Oblast’s educators under difficult circumstances.
