Shortly before the evacuation, eight enemy KABs struck the city. The shelling damaged the house where a family with a 16-year-old boy lived. The boy was unharmed but suffered severe stress. He is currently safe with his parents.

Due to the proximity to the front lines, the forced evacuation of families with children is ongoing in Druzhkivka. Many families have already left, but there are some families who have to be persuaded several times.

“The last few days have been very scary. Shells were landing all around the house, and the child was terrified. That’s why we finally decided to leave,” says the father.

Due to the threat to his life, the 16-year-old teenager was forced to stay at home all day, in complete isolation. Constant shelling, the lack of schooling, and the inability to socialize with peers forced the boy to insist on evacuation.

“I want to leave here so I can walk down the street in peace. It’s already very boring and scary at home,” says Yegor.

Law enforcement officers picked up the family in an armored vehicle because enemy drones are constantly circling the city, targeting cars.

The rescued family was handed over to volunteers, who transported them to a safer region of the country.
