On the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day, the Donetsk Youth Palace "Yunist" organized an important and symbolic event "Colors of Victory". It was attended by about 300 participants from more than 50 educational institutions of different cities and territorial communities of Donetsk region.
The idea of the event was simple but extremely eloquent: participants decorated the branches of trees and bushes with blue and yellow ribbons - the colors of the Ukrainian flag. This gesture was a sign of respect for the state symbols, a desire for freedom and unity. Each photo taken by the participants turned into a small manifesto of love for Ukraine.
Representatives of 27 settlements in Donetsk Oblast joined the contest.
The participation of representatives of the Kalchytska community in Mariupol district was particularly touching. Although these participants are neither students nor teachers, they expressed a sincere desire to join the campaign. It was a way for them to show that even the temporarily occupied territory remains part of Ukraine.
The Colors of Victory campaign proved that even simple symbolic actions can unite people. The blue and yellow ribbons that covered trees and bushes all over Ukraine became a sign of hope, resilience and our common belief in Victory!
