On August 22, the Donetsk Regional Museum of Local History held an online quiz entitled “Independence: History, Events, Personalities,” dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the restoration of Ukraine's statehood. The format of the intellectual competition allowed anyone interested to join the event regardless of their location, test their knowledge of our country's history, and learn new facts about important events and figures that shaped Ukrainian statehood.
At the beginning of the meeting, the organizers emphasized the importance of historical memory for the current generation and familiarized those present with the rules of the quiz game, which is not only a test of knowledge but also a kind of bridge to active learning about the past.
Participants answered questions about different periods of Ukrainian history, significant events, and prominent figures. After completing the test, they were able to review the correct answers accompanied by expert commentary from museum staff. This format allowed participants not only to learn the correct answers, but also to understand the broader historical context of each question.
It was nice to note the high level of preparation of the participants, their quick wits, and genuine interest in the topic. The atmosphere of the event showed that the museum's intellectual initiatives contribute not only to deepening knowledge but also to forming a conscious attitude toward the history and processes of statehood in Ukraine.
