Donetsk Oblast participated in the interregional stage of the “Side by Side All-Ukrainian student leagues” futsal competition, which took place in Poltava. The region was represented at these events by the team from the Donbas State machine-building academy.
During the group stage, the students from Donetsk Oblast played two matches. Their opponents were teams from Poltava and Sumy. The matches proved to be challenging, but it is precisely such competitions that provide the most valuable benefits – real-world playing experience, new insights, additional motivation, and an understanding of areas for further improvement.
Student sports are an important investment in the health of young people, their all-around development, and the formation of an active civic community. Donetsk Oblast will continue to participate in the “Side by Side All-Ukrainian student leagues” project, which was launched in 2026 at the initiative of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to ensure that student teams in the region have the opportunity to train systematically, gain competitive experience, and strive for new athletic achievements.
