Can an employer receive compensation for adapting a workplace for a person with a disability if such compensation has already been granted to another employer? And when is the compensation provided — before or after the adaptation?
Compensation is provided only once — if another employer has already received it for the same employee, it cannot be granted again. The State Employment Service pays the compensation after the person with a disability has been officially employed and their workplace has been actually adapted. Both individual entrepreneurs (FOPs) and legal entities that have created the necessary working conditions are eligible.
The compensation amount is up to UAH 120,000 for employees in disability group I, and up to UAH 80,000 for group II.
Important: Compensation is not provided if the person has worked for the same employer in the past 180 days.
The procedure for providing compensation for actual expenses related to the adaptation of workplaces/places of business or independent professional activity for persons with disabilities is governed by Resolution No. 893 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated August 22, 2023.
