On the Constitution Day of Ukraine, the Donetsk Palace of Youth "Yunyst" organized a regional online competition for reciters and drawings titled "Simply about the Constitution." Children aged 6 to 11 years — students of general secondary education institutions in the Donetsk region — participated in the competition.
The event aimed to foster initial legal thinking in younger schoolchildren, a respectful attitude towards the Constitution of Ukraine, an awareness of their belonging to the Ukrainian nation, and the cultivation of national identity from an early age. The competition contributed to the development of children's creative potential, patriotic worldview, and civic consciousness.
About 100 works were submitted for the jury's consideration in three age categories and in the nominations: "Poem Recitation," "Greeting," "Photo Postcard."
The competition entries demonstrated the sincerity of children's perception of state symbols, love for Ukraine, respect for its laws, and a readiness to grow into responsible citizens.
Based on the jury's evaluation results, the best works in all categories and nominations were recognized. The jury noted the high level of creativity, sincerity, patriotism, and substance of the submitted works. A special award was given to the author's poem by Halyna Makohon (Petrovska General Secondary Education Institution of I-II levels of the Oleksandrivska Village Council), which impressed with its depth of content and sincerity of expression.
The event became an important component of the systematic work on national-patriotic education in the region. It is through such initiatives that children learn to understand the essence of statehood, respect the law, and feel like part of the Ukrainian nation.
Ukraine begins with you – a conscious little citizen!
