To mark the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of Ukraine, a complete translation of the Constitution into Ukrainian Sign Language has been prepared for the first time. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
This translation will help make constitutional rights and provisions more understandable to people with hearing impairments and will be another step toward accessibility.
To ensure that the translation of the Constitution into Ukrainian Sign Language is understandable across different regions of Ukraine, nine translators fluent in various dialects of Ukrainian Sign Language were involved in the project, along with experts in Ukrainian Sign Language and law.
