The Coordination Center for the Treatment of Prisoners of War facilitates the return of individuals held captive

Published 26 March 2026 year, 12:29

In the wake of the Russian Federation’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, a significant number of our citizens have been taken prisoner or are missing, and their families require adequate information support.

To locate those missing as a result of the armed conflict and to secure the return of Ukrainian defenders and civilians currently held by the aggressor state, the Coordination Headquarters utilizes an information system for the treatment of prisoners of war.

Using the capabilities of the Information System, family members of those in captivity can register for a personal account, through which they will receive online updates regarding their loved ones.

This includes information such as: status as a prisoner of war; confirmation of prisoner-of-war status from the International Committee of the Red Cross; place of detention; confirmation that the deprivation of personal liberty resulted from armed aggression against Ukraine; and other details.

In addition, families can add information about their loved ones (the Information System has over 100 fields to fill out: distinguishing features; height; shoe size, etc.), which helps identify a person if they are in captivity.

Please note that access to this Information System is granted after mandatory registration in your personal account via the link: https://cabinet.koordshtab.gov.ua/login.
