The Kostiantynivka community has launched an artistic initiative that brings together communities from different regions of Ukraine around the symbol of Easter—the pysanka. This project is about life, hope, and resilience, demonstrating the power of cultural traditions even in difficult times.
Children, youth, and adults are joining the initiative alongside the communities’ creative groups. As part of the project, they create wooden pysanky using various techniques, combining traditional patterns with modern meanings and their own stories. Each piece reflects the uniqueness of the community, and together they form a living map of Ukraine’s cultural unity.
To date, 36 cities and villages across Ukraine, as well as over 60 artistic, cultural, and educational institutions, are participating in the project.
The final stage will be an exhibition where the pysanky will form a symbolic “map of unity.” It demonstrates that even from a distance and under difficult conditions, Ukrainians remain united, strong, and capable of creating together.
And most importantly, the initiative reminds us: Ukraine’s strength lies in its people, in their stories, and in their collective actions, which create true resilience.
