On March 31, a regular meeting of the working group was held to coordinate efforts to provide assistance and social services to war veterans, military personnel, and the families of fallen soldiers (those who have died or been declared missing in action) in the Donetsk region. The event was chaired by Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the structural units of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the Regional Employment Center, the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in the Donetsk region, the Donetsk Regional Territorial Recruitment Center, district state administrations, district military administrations, the Main Directorates of the National Police and the State Emergency Service in the Donetsk region, as well as military administrations of communities whose residents include the aforementioned categories of persons.
The participants discussed the provision of assistance and state and supplementary social guarantees for war veterans, military personnel, and their families. Particular attention was paid to the needs of those released from captivity on March 5–6, 2026, and severely wounded military personnel, specifically regarding their social support, access to services, and timely receipt of assistance.
Following the meeting, participants identified priority tasks and next steps to improve support for war veterans, military personnel, and their families. They focused on increasing the accessibility of services, the speed of assistance, and strengthening an individualized approach to each person.
The working group will continue to respond promptly to the requests and needs of war veterans, military personnel, and their family members. Work in this area is extremely important for ensuring an adequate level of support for these groups.
