Where veterans can turn to in a crisis situation

Published 21 January 2026 year, 11:02

Power outages, lack of heating or water, sudden life difficulties — at such moments, it is especially important not to be alone.

If you find yourself in a situation where you lack basic living conditions, feel emotionally exhausted, or urgently need help, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs reminds you of the key services you can turn to.

🔹Support specialist

This is a person who not only provides information and support but also helps you navigate difficult life situations.

Currently, there are 2,323 specialists working in 1,114 communities in Ukraine.

How to find a support specialist?

Method 1. Through Veteran Pro in Action

To save time searching, you can find a specialist online in a few steps:

1. Open the Action app.

2. Go to the "Services" → "Veteran Pro" section.

3. Select the "Find a specialist" option.

4. Enter your full name (if you are looking for a specific specialist) or the region and community where you want to receive the service.

5. Click "Apply."

6. Review the list of available specialists, including their phone numbers, email addresses, and information about the institution where they work.

Method 2. Through veteran policy departments in your region. They operate within regional and district military administrations, as well as in local communities.

🔹Veteran policy departments

These departments employ specialists who know how to help you and take into account the needs of each individual. Their main goal is to make state assistance as accessible and available as possible.

Contact the specialists in your region — they will advise, help, and support you.

Contact details for representatives of structural departments in your region can be found at the link

🔹Resilience centers in communities

These are places you can turn to when you are struggling emotionally, when you need professional psychological or social support, or when you have questions that are difficult to answer on your own.

Information about the Center in your community can be found on the website: Ministry of Social Policy

🔹For those who are in the capital, there is Kyiv Military Hub. It is an urban space for veterans, female veterans, and their families. Here, they will provide psychological assistance and comprehensive support. You can contact them by calling the hotline at 0 800 300 633.

🔹Service 112 — the single emergency number

By calling this number, you can simultaneously call several emergency services: the State Emergency Service, medical assistance, and the police.

You can also find out where the nearest warming center is located.

If you are unable to leave the premises on your own, inform the operator — a specialist will be sent to you.

🔹No mobile connection? Call via the mobile app, and the operator will assess the situation and send rescuers, police, medics, and/or gas service to the location.

The app will work where there is no mobile signal but there is Wi-Fi.
