On July 15, in the city of Dnipro, precisely on the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, when the whole country celebrates the thousand-year history of statehood and indomitability, the grand opening of the eco-object “Flowers of the Future of Donetsk” took place in the Novokodatsky Park of the Dnipro. This event is the culmination and at the same time the beginning of new changes embodied by the active youth of Donetsk, who temporarily live in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
“Flowers of the Future of Donetsk” is an initiative of the youth of the Myrnograd community. Despite the challenges of war and temporary resettlement, these young people do not lose touch with their native land and are actively acting, changing themselves and the world around them. The project was made possible thanks to the support of UNICEF and the Donetsk Regional State Administration within the framework of the DIY Community initiative competition in partnership with the NGO “Zakhody” and the NGO “Krayina rozvytku”.
This initiative skillfully combined: eco-education - online meetings, there were 5 and 1 offline, quizzes, team work, civic engagement - communication with representatives of the Dnipro City Council, discussion of real environmental problems creativity and action - creation of an eco-object in the urban space: a flower garden as a symbol of the revival of the Donetsk region.
The following were invited to the event with welcoming words: Yuriy Tretyak, Head of the Myrnograd City Military Administration, Mykhailo Snopenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Family, Youth and Mass Events of National and Patriotic Education of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Levchenko, Deputy Head of the Youth Council under the Myrnograd City Council, as well as representatives of the communities of the Donetsk region who temporarily live in the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Today's event filled hearts with hope and faith. The official opening of the eco-object "Flowers of the Future of Donetsk Region" became not just a celebration, but a true symbol of the indomitable spirit and desire for revival demonstrated by the youth of Myrnohrad.
