As part of the Side by Side: United Communities project, a warm and inspiring online meeting called "We Read Together" was held, bringing together library staff and book lovers from different regions of Ukraine.
The event was attended by:
- Toretska City Central Library with its branch libraries;
- the Ruzhynska Public Library branch of the Ruzhynska Settlement Council's Center for Culture and Leisure;
- the Taras Shevchenko Public Library in Kaniv.
The online meeting became a platform for professional exchange, mutual support, and joint search for new ideas in the field of promoting reading. Representatives of each library presented their own working formats, shared modern approaches to organizing events, successful practices, and creative initiatives aimed at attracting children and adults to reading.
A special focus was placed on the literary section:
Olga Chernichenko from the Ruzhyn community and Ksenia Khimchenko from the Toretsk community presented their own poetic works about Ukraine and their native Toretsk. Their poems sounded sincere and touching, filling the meeting with an atmosphere of love for their homeland and faith in its future.
The event confirmed that books and creativity can bring people together regardless of distance, and that partnerships between libraries create new opportunities for cultural development and community cooperation.
