Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, many Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes. Among them are 84 children from the Druzhkivka Children's Orphanage, who were evacuated to the Kingdom of Spain. There, in the Spanish province of Asturias, they found a new temporary home and received sincere support and care.
From the first days of their stay abroad, Ukrainian children felt cared for by their Spanish colleagues. They actively participate in all activities and classes, proudly demonstrate their patriotism and tell their new friends about their native Ukraine.
This summer, the children had many unforgettable experiences. They attended an exciting performance by the world-famous Cirque du Soleil, enjoyed a vacation on the picturesque beaches of the Atlantic coast, kayaked on the Nalon River, and had fun outdoors.
The days of Ukrainian cuisine occupy a special place in their lives in Spain. The children are happy to organize cooking classes, preparing national dishes and treating the center's employees, who have already fallen in love with Ukrainian flavors. They cooked green borscht, made dumplings and fried pancakes to make them feel the taste of their native Ukraine even when they are away from home.
We are proud of our wards and look forward to their return home as soon as possible. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the government of the province of Asturias for the interesting Spanish vacation, as well as to the Kingdom of Spain, its citizens and volunteer organizations that provided shelter and support to our children.
Let's bring victory closer! Everything will be Ukraine!
