In Dnipro, on the eve of Independence Day and Ukrainian Flag Day, a landmark meeting took place, bringing together the mayor of the Kurakhove community and representatives of the Donetsk Regional State Administration's Department of Family, Youth, and Mass Events of National-Patriotic Education with active young people. The focus was on the official part of the event — honoring the fallen heroes, talking about Ukraine's independence — and the informal part — discussing the opening of a new youth space in Kyiv, which is to become a real center of unity for displaced youth from Donetsk Oblast. This location will be a place where young people can not only develop, but also find support and a sense of community. Various events are planned here, from educational seminars to cultural evenings, which will help young people establish contacts and implement joint projects.
At the end of the event, a symbolic “Independence Korovai” was presented. Roman Padun, head of the Kurakhiv City Military Administration, handed it over to Lilia Zolkina, head of the Department of Family, Youth, and Mass Events of National-Patriotic Education of the Donetsk Regional State Administration. This gesture is a powerful symbol of unity, gratitude, and faith in a shared future. It proves that despite all the trials, the ties between the communities of Donetsk region remain strong.
