On December 24, 2025, a regular meeting of the Coordination Council on the Affirmation of Ukrainian National and Civic Identity was held at the Donetsk Regional State Administration.

The event was held in a mixed format and chaired by the deputy head of the regional state administration, Oleksandr Shevchenko. The meeting was attended by members of the council, representatives of structural units of the Regional State Administration, local self-government bodies, public organizations, and experts in the field of national and patriotic education.

During the meeting, the participants discussed in detail the key issues on the agenda aimed at strengthening the patriotic consciousness of young people and residents of the region. In particular, Tetiana Pichuhova, director of the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren, spoke about the All-Ukrainian game "Sokil" ("Dzhura") as an effective means of forming civic identity, emphasizing its important role in educating active citizens.

Lilia Zolkina, head of the Department of Family, Youth, and Mass Events of National-Patriotic Education of the Regional State Administration, reported on the involvement of young people from local communities in all-Ukrainian and regional military-patriotic training. She highlighted the achievements of communities in this area and outlined strategic plans for the future.

Artur Buligin, president of the Ukrainian Technological Sports Federation and first vice president of the ASD public organization, presented innovative approaches to increasing young people's interest in affirming national identity through modern technologies.

Iryna Kozynets from the Pokrovsk District State Administration, Olena Kashuba from the Cherkasy Village Council, and Anna Hutsulyak from the Hrodiv Village Council presented their local experiences, sharing the successful practices and initiatives of their communities.

The meeting of the coordination council once again confirmed that Donetsk region remains at the forefront not only of defense, but also of educating true patriots. From the Cossack traditions of the game "Sokil" ("Dzhura") to modern technological competitions, all these projects combine the past with the future, making patriotism understandable to the new generation. The joint efforts of the authorities, the public sector, and local communities create a strong foundation for the youth of Donetsk region to grow up conscious, strong, and ready to build an independent Ukraine.
