On October 1, on the Day of Defenders of Ukraine and the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks, the Mangush community came together to pay tribute to those who defend our country, our freedom, and our right to live on our native land.
Participants in the event observed a moment of silence in memory of the fallen Defenders of Ukraine—all those whose lives were taken by the war—and also remembered those held captive and those whose fate remains unknown.
Highlights of the gathering included speeches by defenders—those who are defending Ukraine today, who have endured severe hardships and captivity, and who continue to serve the nation.
During the event, defenders of the Mangush community were awarded Certificates of Appreciation from the Mangush Settlement Military Administration for their personal courage, dedication, high professionalism, and significant contribution to ensuring Ukraine’s defense capability, as well as in honor of Defenders of Ukraine Day.
Students from extracurricular and arts programs, as well as representatives of the Mangush Community Youth Council, conveyed their greetings to our soldiers. A special treat was the musical and dance performances, which added warmth and heartfelt emotion to the gathering.
The Chyhyryn community also joined the event as part of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project, presenting our defenders with a creative performance titled “Invincible Ukraine.”
Special attention was paid during the event to the families of military personnel—mothers and wives who live in constant anticipation every day, pray for their loved ones, and hold the line on their invisible yet extremely important front.
The event was organized and conducted by the staff of the Mangush Library, who infused it with sincerity, warmth, and a special sense of gratitude toward our defenders.
