This was announced by the Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Chief of the Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.
From December 19 to 30, as part of the cultural and artistic initiative “Marathon of Good Deeds,” Christmas and New Year events are being held for children from Donetsk Oblast. These are warm gatherings, performances, and interactive activities that bring children joy, support, and a sense of celebration even in difficult times.
The goal of the marathon is to unite the children of Donetsk Oblast and remind them that Ukraine is a big family in which everyone matters.
Today, the marathon kicked off in Dnipro. More than 200 children from various communities of Donetsk Oblast watched the play “Who Will Defeat the Dragon?” performed by the Dnipropetrovsk Academic Regional Ukrainian Youth Theatre. At the end of the celebration, all young audience members received sweet gifts.
Next up are events in Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, Khust, and Kyiv. In total, we plan to distribute about 50,000 sweet gifts to children of Donetsk Oblast — both those who remain in the region and those who were forced to relocate to safer areas.
The initiative is supported by the Mkrtchan Brothers Charitable Foundation, which has traditionally been assisting our displaced children.
