A series of New Year and Christmas events under the general title ‘Marathon of Good Deeds’, organised by the Donetsk Oblast State Administration, the Oblast Military Administration, has come to an end. The festive events began on 6 December in Dnipro on St. Nicholas Day and took place in various regions of Ukraine.
Fairytale characters, Christmas decorations, New Year's music and theatrical performances created a festive atmosphere for the young guests and helped the children feel warmth and support while staying in different regions of the country.
Unfortunately, due to security challenges, we were unable to hold festive events for children who remain in Donetsk Oblast. But even from a distance, we could not ignore them. It is the duty and responsibility of adults to give children joy, support and hope.
Thanks to the unity of the territorial communities of Donetsk region, volunteers, responsible businesses and charitable foundations, about 50,000 children, including almost 12,000 in Donetsk region, received sweet gifts.
We will not allow the enemy to steal our children's childhood. Through our joint efforts, we have created a real Christmas fairy tale for them, filled with warmth, faith in goodness and hope for a peaceful future.
