On the eve of the New Year holidays, a regional gathering of student government leaders from Donetsk Oblast was held, entitled "Leaders of the Future: I Am a Patriotic Citizen," which brought together 50 active and motivated students from the communities of Illinivska, Bakhmutska, Bilitska, Velykonovosilkovska, Dobropilska, Lymanka, Pokrovska, Selidivska, and Chasovoyarska.
The event became a space for meaningful dialogue, within which leadership was understood as daily action, service to the community, and a willingness to take responsibility.
During the gathering, projects of the committees of the Donetsk Regional Council of Student Self-Government Leaders were presented, in particular: the online project "I Have the Right. Hear Me!" (child rights protection), "Friend in Need" (environmental responsibility and humane treatment of animals), "Leader Online" (information literacy and communication), "Idea → Action: Leaders of Change" (public initiatives), "Leader in Resources" (health and sports), "Heroes Are Near: We Remember! We Honor! Let's Continue!" (national memory), "Cultural Code of Donetsk Region" (culture and identity), "Heart of Help" (volunteering and support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine), as well as the mini-project "Good Deeds Every Day," aimed at developing daily social activity.
All initiatives were united by a common idea: patriotism is love for one's country, concern for its development, support for fellow citizens, affirmation of national values, as well as the manifestation of initiative and responsibility in public life.
Young people in Donetsk Oblast think critically, act consciously, and bring about positive change even in difficult circumstances, affirming the values of civil society and their faith in Ukraine's future.
