The guide for servicemen released from captivity was developed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in collaboration with the Central Office for Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The information in the guide is divided into four main sections:
- psychological assistance
- document recovery
- receiving payments
- treatment.
The information will help former captives obtain step-by-step algorithms for restoring financial payments and documents, renewing social guarantees, and receiving legal, medical, and psychological services.
“We have developed visual cards that will help the released captive receive step-by-step instructions during reintegration activities. Detailed and clear information explains how to undergo medical examinations and treatment, restore payments, and receive social support. The guide also contains contacts of volunteer and public organizations that provide legal, medical, and psychological assistance. The brochure will also be useful for representatives of escort services who constantly accompany former captives on their way back to normal life,” said Colonel Oleksandr Kutkov, head of the Central Office for Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The printed version of the guide will be distributed among servicemen immediately after their release from captivity. The electronic version is available at this link.
