Young people from Bakhmut and Gostomel joined the "Stop Bad Habits" campaign

Published 08 April 2026 year, 10:10

Health isn’t about medical certificates; it’s about how we feel every morning. As part of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project, young people from the Bakhmut and Hostomel communities have come together to address stress and anxiety.

The Department of Youth Policy and Children’s Affairs of the Bakhmut City Council launched the “Stop Bad Habits” campaign in honor of World Health Day.

The campaign participants identified real sources of strength. School and college students demonstrate that drive and calm can be found in simple things: sports and active games as the best way to release adrenaline; creativity and dance for balance and a good mood; horseback riding and harmony with nature as a path to inner peace; movement and fresh air as a natural “doping” that gives energy.

For young people, stress is not a theory but a daily reality. A joint initiative by students from Bakhmut and Gostomel Lyceum No. 1 showed: it’s important to support one another, especially during evacuation or under constant stress.

We support everyone: choose a run over a cigarette and an interesting book over endless news. It is important to us that young people stay strong for the sake of their future plans.

Your choice today is your tomorrow.
