The All-Ukrainian wrap-up gathering of student government leaders, “We. Together. The Future,” took place, bringing together active young students from various regions of Ukraine. Delegates from the leadership community in 17 regions participated in the event.
The Donetsk Regional Council of Student Self-Government Leaders “Leader” was represented at the event by Council Chair Anna Pavlenko. In the “Leader of the Vision for the Future” category, she presented the regional project “Reconstruction of Donetsk Region: A Vision for the Future,” which elicited a lively response from the gathering’s delegates.
“For us, Donetsk Region today is like the Phoenix. Not as a myth, but as a reality. The region is undergoing difficult trials, but at the same time is shaping a new culture of collaboration, responsibility, and genuine youth leadership,” Anna states.
The “Rebuilding Donetsk Region: A Vision for the Future” project aims to create digital case studies of communities in the “Past – Present – Future” format. Participants explore the history of their territories, analyze current challenges, and develop their own vision for community development over the next 10–15 years.
The main outcome of the project will be an open digital repository of youth ideas for the region’s recovery, which is planned to be shared with government agencies and partners for consideration in future reconstruction strategies.
The students of Donetsk Oblast are confident: after every challenge comes a time for recovery and new opportunities. We. Together. The Future!
