Young people from Donetsk Oblast took part in the parliamentary hearings

Published 01 May 2026 year, 15:06

Despite the challenges of war, youth policy remains a priority for the Donetsk region. Representatives from the Department of Family, Youth, and Mass Events for National-Patriotic Education of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the region’s youth sector participated online in hearings of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Youth and Sports.

On April 30, a landmark event took place for the country’s youth community—parliamentary hearings on the topic: “The Situation of Youth in Ukraine: Challenges and Adaptation Under Martial Law.” The focus was on the annual report to the President and the Government, covering the complex period of 2022–2025.

The main goal of the event was to identify effective mechanisms for helping young people adapt to the realities of wartime. During the hearings, participants analyzed how the needs of young people have changed over the past three years: from issues of safety and employment to mental health and participation in volunteer initiatives.

The hearings were based on a comprehensive study of the situation facing young people. The main topics discussed were:

  • Integration of IDPs: support for young people who were forced to leave their homes due to hostilities.
  • The role of youth centers: transforming spaces into hubs for informal education and humanitarian aid.
  • Digitization of services: how to make government support tools accessible via smartphone.

The Donetsk Regional State Administration also invited local children’s and youth organizations, youth councils, and active young people to participate in the event. The involvement of the civil society sector ensures that the voices of Donetsk region’s youth are heard at the highest levels of government.
