On February 11, lawyers from the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation held an online consultation for young people and youth workers from Donetsk region.
The meeting was devoted to recent changes in legislation.
During the consultation, lawyers explained in detail the procedure for obtaining compensation for damaged or destroyed property. Particular attention was paid to real estate located in temporarily occupied territories or in areas of active hostilities. These cases raise the most questions and concerns.
A separate section was devoted to entering information about real estate acquired before 2013 into the electronic register. They explained what to do if the title documents remained in the combat zone, were lost, or burned. They explained the specifics of the terms for accepting inheritance, the possibility of remote document processing, and contacting notaries at the place of actual residence.
The experts introduced the International Register of Damage, a tool designed to record the damage caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
They also presented national compensation mechanisms that are already in place or are in the process of being implemented.
Everyone received answers to their questions and specific recommendations.
