From October 12 to 15, 2026, the regional patriotic training program “Police Officer” took place, organized by the Department of Family, Youth, and Mass Events for National-Patriotic Education of the Regional State Administration in cooperation with Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. Students in grades 10 and 11 from 12 local communities in the region participated in the event.
The main goal of the event was to show young men and women how the law enforcement system actually works and what opportunities it offers to young people. This training program has already become a tradition and was held for the third time at Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
At the opening ceremony, Oleksandra Zhuravel, Chief of Staff of the Regional State Administration, and Ruslan Vradiy, Vice Rector of Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, addressed the participants with welcoming remarks. They emphasized the importance of youth participation in activities related to national-patriotic and military-patriotic education, as well as the promotion of law enforcement activities.
The intensive program covered a wide range of topics—from drill training to strengthen discipline and teamwork to mastering the procedures for providing first aid in extreme conditions.
The training participants learned the basics of using unmanned aerial vehicles for aerial reconnaissance and video monitoring, practiced the actions of tactical teams during a simulation of the apprehension of simulated offenders, mastered forensic techniques for identifying and securing physical evidence at the scene of a crime, and participated in a mock court hearing to understand procedural rules and the rules of evidence.
Holding such practical events helps young people make informed career choices, promotes law enforcement, and strengthens the country’s security capabilities.
