In Dnipro, the first meeting within the framework of the project "Youth in Action: Path to an Active Community" took place at the Pokrovsk Sports and Youth Center, bringing together youth from Pokrovsk.
The event had a special atmosphere, as the organizers stated that the project was initiated back in Pokrovsk, and bringing it to life even under new conditions was a matter of honor!
“Of course, we adapted the project to the new realities. However, the idea that we generated together with representatives of the Pokrovsk Youth Council, the Department of Family, Youth and Sports, the scout formation "Scouts of Pokrovsk," and the NGO "Patriots of Ukrainian Donbas" remained unchanged. Our project is for unification, activism, and support for the youth of the Pokrovsk community,” said the head of the NGO "About Youth," Andriy Chastov.
Both youth leaders of the community and new representatives of the community who wish to contribute to the development of the youth environment attended the meeting. Participants got to know each other, played team games, shared experiences, and discussed adaptation, support, and opportunities for youth.
“This project is very important for us. I am convinced it will be beneficial for the youth. So I hope that the boys and girls from Pokrovsk, who currently live in Dnipropetrovsk region, will eagerly join our activities,” said the head of the Department of Family and Youth, Yana Shturkhetska.
This event is just the beginning of a series of youth events: ahead are game nights, activities, new acquaintances, and important topics.
The initiative is implemented by the NGO "About Youth" and the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of the Pokrovsk City Council with the technical administration of the NGO "Interaction Plus," with the support of UNDP in Ukraine and financial support from the EU within the framework of the project "EU4Recovery - Empowering Communities in Ukraine."
