As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities” and to mark Youth Day, an online meeting was held between youth representatives from the Zvanivska and Novodmytrivska communities.
This meeting proved particularly beneficial for the Youth Council under the Zvanivska Rural Military Administration, which recently began its work. Representatives from the Novodmytrivska community, who already have many years of experience in developing youth self-governance and implementing youth initiatives, shared their expertise with our young people.
Participants discussed how to get a youth council up and running, how to build an active team, how to turn an idea into a concrete initiative, and how to engage young people in community life.
Representatives of the Novodmytrivka community presented their own path to developing the youth movement and shared examples of initiatives they’ve carried out—ranging from small local events and community workdays to larger-scale projects and successful practices that have received recognition at the national level.
The meeting took the form of an open dialogue, with participants asking questions, discussing practical aspects of the work, and identifying the first steps that are important for the newly formed Zvanivska Community Youth Council to take today.
It is precisely this exchange of experiences that is one of the key components of community partnerships within the “Side by Side: United Communities” project—where established practices, knowledge, and ideas become the foundation for new initiatives.
