Participant of the Regional Competition "Young Person of the Year – 2025" in the Nomination "Critical Infrastructure Worker of the Year" Daria Dmitriieva
Daria Dmitriieva, a 26-year-old resident of Kramatorsk, has been an operator at the Kramatorsk gas utility of JSC "DONETSKOBLGAZ" for over a year. During this extremely difficult time for the Donetsk region, she is at her workplace every day not only because it is her professional duty, but because it is her internal choice to stay with the people who need support, clarification, and simple solutions in the complex field of gas supply.
Her job is not just about receiving subscribers. In a relatively short time, Daria has shown such responsibility and determination that she has become the true right hand of the head of the subscriber department. Her colleagues value her for her communication skills, and clients appreciate her attentiveness and ability to explain even the most complex things in simple words. Communication has always been something Daria was passionate about.
Her journey into the gas industry began back in 2014 when, due to the fighting, she temporarily moved to Kharkiv to live with her aunt, who worked as a controller in the gas utility. Daria helped her in her free time from school and first felt how important this work was.
In 2020, she graduated from a university in Kharkiv with a degree in ecology and returned to her native Kramatorsk to build her professional future. However, a real test for Daria was 2023, when she lost both of her parents. This pain left a deep mark, but at the same time, it became another reason why she is home today, with her loved ones who need her care, in a city that needs her strength and presence.
Daria is one of those who maintains critical infrastructure without holding tools in her hands. Her tools are words, support, and dialogue. And also, the ability not to be broken by the pressure of difficulties.
In her free time, she learns to play the guitar and sometimes returns to her youthful passion—writing poetry. In each of her poems, there is a little of her love for her native city, for the people she helps every day, and for the work she chose with her heart.
