"Young Person of the Year 2026" — Anastasia Shturkhetska

Anastasia Shturkhetska, a participant in the regional “Young Person of the Year 2026” competition in the “Youth Initiatives” category 

Anastasiia Shturkhetska is a fourth-year student at the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, a civic activist, youth leader, and representative of the Donetsk region’s youth movement. She is dedicated to creating opportunities for young people, supporting youth initiatives, strengthening Ukrainian national and civic identity, and encouraging meaningful youth participation in decision-making processes.

Having progressed from a volunteer to a member of the Pokrovsk Youth Council, Anastasiia now serves on the Youth Council under the Donetsk Regional State Administration, where she heads the Committee on Ukrainian National and Civic Identity. She is also a member of the Regional Youth Congress of Donetsk Oblast and actively contributes to socially significant initiatives through several civic organizations.

Anastasiia has co-implemented the projects “Mental Support for Donetsk Youth” and “Call of the Steppe,” which focus on mental well-being, leadership development, civic engagement, and patriotic education. She continuously strengthens her professional expertise through training in youth work, human rights, civic education, public safety, and national resilience. As a future legal professional, she is actively engaged in academic research on the rule of law, democracy, European integration, and the development of Ukraine’s legal system. Her leadership, civic commitment, and contribution to youth policy have been recognized with awards from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Donetsk Regional State Administration, and local authorities, reflecting her significant impact on empowering the next generation of Ukrainian leaders.
