Bogdan Bogdanov, a participant in the regional “Young Person of the Year – 2026” competition in the “Guardian of Law and Order” category
Bogdan Bogdanov was born in Kramatorsk. It was here that he spent his childhood and youth, which instilled in him a deep sense of responsibility for his native land. In 2021, he made a conscious decision to serve society and joined the ranks of the Kramatorsk and Sloviansk patrol police.
From the very first days of the full-scale invasion, Bogdan found himself on the front lines of civilian rescue efforts: he was the first to arrive at the sites of airstrikes, evacuated people from under the rubble, and maintained order in cities near the front lines. In 2026, when the enemy intensified its air attacks, the police officer joined a newly formed anti-drone unit to defend the skies over his hometown.
Serving in this unit requires exceptional resilience. In May 2026, while carrying out a combat mission, Bohdan and his comrades engaged enemy UAVs. The officers neutralized several drones, but one of them struck near their patrol car. Bohdan sustained a shrapnel wound to his leg.
However, even this ordeal did not stop the law enforcement officer. After undergoing treatment and rehabilitation, he returned to duty with his anti-drone team without hesitation.
