“Hang in there, brother”—these words are heard every day at the 24th Brigade’s stabilization point. Short commands, jokes, questions about how you’re feeling, and the familiar, “We’ll take care of everything right now.”

Today, the wounded have to be evacuated from their positions on foot or transported using ground-based robotic systems. The stabilization point itself is one of the crucial locations in the fight to save every life.

Examination, stopping bleeding, pain relief, stabilization, and preparation for further evacuation.

But their work doesn’t end after evacuation. Military medics accompany the wounded through the stages of treatment and rehabilitation, caring for each one.

Behind every life saved lies the knowledge, experience, and resilience of the people you see in these photos.
