Bogdan Zuyakov, a participant in the regional “Young Person of the Year – 2026” competition in the “Called to Save” category
Bogdan Zuyakov is an active community leader, athlete, and volunteer from Kramatorsk. His journey began with weightlifting and arm wrestling, where he became a medalist at the Ukrainian Championships and a participant in the World Championships. He earned a degree in coaching from Taras Shevchenko National University of Lviv and a law degree from the Donetsk Institute of Technology and Management.
Bogdan was a student when the full-scale invasion began. He immediately joined the defense of Kramatorsk: he set up checkpoints, reinforced hospitals, and, following enemy shelling, worked with the State Emergency Service to clear debris and rescue people.
In the summer of 2023, Bohdan founded the nonprofit organization “Kramatorsk Volunteer Association.” He personally evacuated thousands of families from the hottest spots in the Donetsk region: Chasovoy Yar, Toretsk, Siversk, Kostiantynivka, and Druzhkivka. The volunteer also coordinates social transportation services in Kramatorsk and helps rebuild damaged homes.
At the same time, Bohdan heads the 4th-term Kramatorsk Youth Council, bringing young men and women together to rebuild the community. Every day, he develops new humanitarian routes, engages international partners, and brings victory closer through concrete actions. Thanks to his courage, Bohdan was nominated for the regional “Young Person of the Year – 2026” contest in the “Called to Save” category.
