Denis Sysoev heads the Education Department of the Kramatorsk City Council, having assumed responsibility for the education sector in 2022. As director, he has focused on flexible crisis management, assembling a team of young professionals and incorporating European best practices to adapt state reforms.
Under his leadership, the community’s schools have fully transitioned to an automated management system, and the results of a Swiss-Ukrainian project on reforming career guidance were presented. In addition, Denys Sysoev organized the institutional relocation of the First Kramatorsk Lyceum and Kindergarten No. 3 “Kalinka” to the city of Perechyn in Zakarpattia. An educational hub has been established at the lyceum, for which funding is being secured to build a new academic building with an IT space.
Along with the relocation and organization of educational programs, the head of the department has been involved in addressing the aftermath of the shelling in Kramatorsk. With the support of senior leadership, the department’s team has implemented municipal social and memorial projects, including the creation of the “Kramatorsk’s Heavenly Army” and “Kramatorsk Veterans” portals, and the release of a series of patriotic podcasts.
