Participant in the regional contest “Young Person of the Year – 2026” in the “Creators of Change and Opportunities” category: Iryna Denysenko
Iryna Denysenko is a shining example of how love for one’s homeland translates into tireless action. Born in Bakhmut, she chose a path of service to culture, education, and the people. Despite all the challenges, Iryna earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in “Ukrainian Language and Literature. Psychology,” combining a deep knowledge of her native language with an understanding of the human soul.
For over three years, Iryna has led the creative team at the “Bakhmut City People’s House.” She has become the driving force and organizer behind dozens of city and regional events for residents of Donetsk Oblast, veterans, military personnel, and internally displaced persons. She pays special attention to fostering national and patriotic values among children and youth, promoting Ukrainian history and traditions through patriotic events and activities organized by the Ukrainian Culture Club.
As a member of the Bakhmut Community Youth Council and the Regional Youth Congress, Iryna is constantly honing her skills in art therapy, mental health, and first aid. For her achievements, she has won prestigious language competitions and received numerous awards.
Iryna considers her mission to be raising a conscious generation and preserving the memory of Bakhmut. She is convinced that the native language and the psychological resilience of young people are the most powerful weapons for Ukraine’s recovery.
