Milanja Tomas, a participant in the regional “Young Person of the Year – 2026” contest in the “Energy of Care and Support” category
Tomas Milania is a ninth-grade student at Kurakhove Support Secondary School No. 5 and a participant in the Young Person of the Year 2026 regional competition. Despite her young age, she has become an inspiring leader who motivates her peers through volunteering, creativity, and civic engagement.
As an active member of the student council and the senior Dzhura team Heroic Hearts, Milania initiated charity projects that united students studying remotely across Ukraine and abroad. Thanks to her leadership, the school community raised funds for essential equipment for Ukrainian defenders, organized a campaign to collect recycled yarn for warm socks for soldiers, and held creative fundraising workshops.
Milania is also passionate about video editing, handicrafts, and literature. She is the author of patriotic video projects, a winner of regional and national creative and research competitions, and a prizewinner of the regional literary contest Poetic Extravaganza.
Her achievements prove that true leadership is not defined by age but by the willingness to take responsibility, support others, and contribute through meaningful actions. Milania’s dedication, creativity, and compassion make her a worthy representative of the Donetsk region and an inspiring example of the resilience, talent, and civic spirit of Ukraine’s young generation.
