Participant in the regional “Young Person of the Year 2026” contest, “Unbreakable Will” category Vyacheslav Mykhailenko
Vyacheslav Mikhailenko is a major in the Civil Protection Service who has dedicated more than ten years to protecting the population and ensuring Ukraine’s security. From 2014 to 2018, he participated directly in the anti-terrorist operation, and since the start of the full-scale invasion, he has continued to perform his duties under the most dangerous conditions.
In the first months of the war, Vyacheslav oversaw the evacuation of civilians from Kramatorsk, coordinated the work of State Emergency Service units as part of the Kramatorsk District Coordination Headquarters, and participated in unloading humanitarian aid and supporting the community’s basic needs. In 2023, he assisted evacuees at the Dnipro train station and organized the delivery of humanitarian supplies and equipment for the needs of the Donetsk region.
He later joined efforts to distribute humanitarian aid to residents of Kramatorsk and to support evacuation operations from frontline areas. He paid special attention to supporting the elderly, children, and people with disabilities.
While carrying out evacuation tasks, he provided assistance to 311 citizens, including 47 children and 25 people with disabilities, by organizing their safe reception and registration at the transit evacuation point in Pavlohrad.
Through his professionalism, determination, and selfless service, Vyacheslav Mykhailenko proves every day that an unbreakable will is not only resilience in the face of the challenges of war, but also a readiness to stand up for the people and Ukraine to the very end.
